it is still the relevant question. did the crew try to deescalate the situation if it was not a criminal act to begin with? i'm not faulting the crew or decision to divert. these are questions about policy for the c-suite. is c-suite going to support diversions and the enormous expenses for non-criminal seat poaching? It is probably time that airlines staff trained security onboard if these things continue (or assign a trained FA security officer to each flight). Many large private companies have private security on premises. The crew has other things to deal with than just security.
