It was an ultra fun drive. Had work scheduled in Oakland at 4 this afternoon, left the hotel at 11 and Google maps said 4.5 hours (1 more than normal due to the fire). Unfortunately the alternate route on backroads through the hills that Google was showing me, that was bogus, as the road was closed. Ended up being an additional 3.5 hours (total)
While the coast is beautiful, I literally drove up highway 1 (for the first time in my life) earlier in the week coming up from L.A (Andaz W.H, Waldorf B.H, Seabird, and Alila Marea).

So yeah. Fun.
