I've wandered HNL aimlessly many times in the past when I've taken bumps or came in earlier than a friend I was going to meet at the gate. It's not fun.

As long as you have your car, there'd be tons of things you could do. Why not save Ala Moana Shopping Center for that last bit of time to pick up some souviniers or just to check it out. Then you can also dine there... Jakie's Kitchen, CPK, Bubba Gumps, Morton's Steakhouse, Alan Wong's, etc. restaurants are all located there.

You may also try just driving around the island. How about a Shave Ice run? That might be fun.
