But in that case the date would be different. They likely have some smart/fuzzy logic behind crediting those miles. The rules is though, if you stay on board, or re-board the same aircraft, having the same flightnumber - it will count as one segment.

Another greatly confusing example is this. Depending on if you are flying to UIO or GYE that flight number will credit differently, both for the way down there and on the way back.
