A friend and I, both 17 year-old Seattleites, are headed up to Montréal and Québec City in April for our Spring Break because we're Francophone nerds and, being Seattleites, know a thing or two about exploiting the Canadian dollar.

For the Montréal leg of our trip, we're looking for something cheap that also allows minors to stay without adults, but with letters of consent. We'd be up for anything from a nice hostel to a mid-range hotel. We'd prefer to stay in the Plateau neigborhood or the Quartier Latin. So far, the Château de l'Argoat ($85 CAD) looks best, but we're totally open to any suggestions. Does anyone know anything about this place?

We're looking for the same thing in Québec, but haven't had as much luck in finding a place. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.
