Am I reading correctly the new flight you were offered left (and presumably arrived) 30 minutes before your original one? If so, no cancellation compensation would be due (see main thread on minimum difference in times required for compensation - it's a bit complex as "before" differs from "after" and minimum changes depend on when cancellation was notified, but 30 minutes before would not qualify under any of the scenarios).
Apologies if I got this wrong, in which case, please, OP, can you confirm what was the actual difference between your original and actual arrival times?
