I stayed here for two nights a couple of months ago, and despite loving the Oriental Suite (SNAs used), I can echo NoY’s sentiments. Firstly, breakfast was a disaster and nobody cared. On the first morning, having ticked the items I wanted from a very cheap looking form - I am a vegetarian - I somehow ended up with a chicken sausage on my plate. I brought this to the server’s attention, but he simply walked away. On the second morning, I had the worst ever cheese and tomato omelette. Additionally, on my invoice, it only had me down as staying one night. I emailed the hotel twice about this, and guess what, no reply. Appalling. I recently stayed at the Residence Inn in Juffair, and that was fantastic. Lovely welcome note in my suite, together with a nice selection of freshly-cut fruit. Great service at reception, very good breakfasts with super friendly staff. A total contrast to Le Meridien.
Mrs NoY found LM awful in terms of customer service, when my wife instigated the Platinum Amenity Guarantee, which was not offered upon arrival/check-in. The management & their employees have made it their mission not to honour this benefit compensation despite escalating to Marriott Corporate (who were bl+++y useless). Therefore we have black-listed the property permanently.
Also, we found the breakfast quality absolutely terrible - the cheapest, horrible bakery items, lack lustre service & a depressing canteen-like "restaurant".
A terrible place.
