Reminds me a bit of Renaissance Cruise Line back in 2001. When they announced they were ceasing operations they had several ships out on cruises. The ones in port almost immediately went black and literally throw passengers off the ships. The ones at sea headed to the nearest port that could accommodate them. As I recall it wasn’t just the passengers who got kicked off but also almost all the crews. I would hope that unlike Renaissance Genting has at least enough resources to assist passengers and crew to get home. It was a big stink in the industry at the time. The eight ships of the fleet were eventually sold off piecemeal to other lines or startups but several languished in ports at anchorage for several years.
