While that may be true in the UK and a limited number of other countries, I honestly can't sense the same optimism re: phasing out of restrictions coming out from elsewhere, close to home and further afield... eg much of Asia and the Pacific is still shut.

That's what I was wondering. I mean, I have given BA more money since the beginning of the pandemic than ever before precisely because of BwC!
Edit: I don't know if this could in any way be read by those making decisions, but I'd be willing even to pay 15% more than on a pre-Covid non-refundable fare if this feature were to remain permanent. Though I don't know whether that makes any financial sense to the airline.
