With no pre-boarding priviledges in the C term, it drives me insane as a tin elite to be the last in line to board b/c i don't want to wait in the little hallway to board a CRJ or Saab. The last time i was boarding a CRJ for an 1.5 hr flight, there was a woman sitting in my fav seat 1B (which i had been assigned) that asked if i would mind sitting 11A so that she could sit next to her daughter.
I'd rather stand in a hallway than sit for an extra 15 minutes on a CRJ. All the perseverating about lack of preboarding on Airlink really does baffle me. I always try to be the last one on those planes.
Oh, and if somebody asked me to trade 1B for 11A, I would politely refuse ("sorry, ma'am, but due to my hysterical claustrophobia I must sit in my preassigned seat") and suggest that her daughter try trading with 11B.
