This is sad. However, it is not a surprise. For well over a year they have been on several watch lists because of the financial status of Genting. Also, after the pandemic hit, they were possibly the slowest cruise line to issue refunds, causing consternation in the travel industry.

More than one major travel insurers would not cover Crystal cruises for awhile now--which should be one big indicator for sure. I had some clients booked on Crystal for one of these cruises, but after I shared what was known from news and financial media, they cancelled.

It's a shame because most past clients loved their cruises with Crystal. Hopefully they will find a buyer or arrange financing so they can survive.
