It’s over a year old article and that’s never been Hyatt’s policy. Just asked Hyatt Concierge via Twitter and they also confirmed any stay bridging years is counted based on the checkout date. Not sure where you heard about this “memo” as it’s not even mentioned in the article.
Many people have tried over the years to get manual adjustments counting credits towards the prior year and it’s never happened.
As I stated in my initial post, the memo was referenced by the Hyatt agent I spoke with.
