I would say just move on and forget about it.
My understanding was this was covered by the Memo the rep read to me over the phone. I was not asking anyone to bend the rules. (it also seemed consistent with the Hyatt policy stated here https://thepointsguy.com/news/hotel-credit-new-year/)
If the mystical memo was wrong, so be it. But getting an email saying my request has been taken care of, if the answer was there was nothing to be done, seems wrong.
