You can buy a subscription for E+ for you or you +1 or you +8. I purchased the E+ for me plus 1 at booking, (essentially what you get in Gold) and it made my life a lot easier. I only regret I did not buy it earlier. Plus you get immediate PQP for the full value of your purchase. it was $700 to $800 dollars.
If that is the main benefit you want/need that price beats thousands.
Note: I am not sure if the Gold +1 includes trips outside of the continental U.S. you can add that feature to the subscription for $100 more and global for a little more than that. If anybody knows if the E+ benefit from premier status includes travel globally or outside the U.S, can you please post as it would be good to know.
