"Operational Upgrade" more than two months in advance? Possible?

Hi there!

I have not posted here (and even did not follow FT forums) for a long time since the coronavirus pandemic started.

But now I have a question about a reservation that have been upgraded without prior explanation. It appears to be an OP-UP more than two months in advance.

In July, 2021, I have booked at LH.com a round trip for my brother, my sister-in-law and my niece ( 2 y.o.) for April, 2022, flights LX 93 (GRU-ZRH) and LX 92 (ZRH - GRU).

The flights were booked as "mixed classes": LX 93 in Premium Economy and LX92 in Business.

Two days ago, I have received an e-mail from LH about a change in departure time for LX 93. This flight now will depart only 10 minutes later. No need to worry about.

But on checking the booking details on that e-mail, I realized that now LX 93 is booked as Business.

I have confirmed the departure time alteration and the booking class remained as Business for both LX 93 and LX 92.

So, was this really an OP-UP two months in advance or maybe it is an IT glitch?

For more details on this:
- I have also booked the same flights on the same dates for me and my mother, in a separated booking, but for me and my mother, I have booked both LX 93 and LX 92 in Business from the start. I also received the e-mail about the departure time change and confirmed it.

- I don't know what is the status of SWISS cabin changes to include Premium Economy on the B777. Maybe there will be no PE in April yet and for this reason LX 93 flight was OP-UP for business two months ahead?

Best regards,

Criske
