We loved the TWA hotel as air and history buffs but they are a terribly run hotel. The carpet complaint is for the walkway to the Hughes Wing. If you don’t go down that hallway, you won’t see it. And yes there is a “sorry the carpet sucks” sign as you enter that wing. We booked a runway suite, which added a coach, and the room was small for the average category. It had no glasses, only two towels for three registered guests, no trash can, and a big stain on the rug. And the staff could care less about you being there.
But the hotel is so fun. The pool in the evening overlooking the runway was great. We would absolutely stay again for one night just for the architecture, Connie bar and pool.
