I have always used our corporate for personal travel when it's the lowest available. We have never been informed internally that corporate rate cannot be used for personal travel.
I didn't inquire with a person - I found internal documentation that is pretty clear on the company policy. I'm actually curious now what answer I would get if I asked an actual person.
