From a hotel's perspective the only difference is the guaranteed 4pm check out - other than that I don't think the hotels are trained to give any other perks when compared to Club or Sterling level
Not sure about the exact spend requirement, you need to be top 1% to requalify for Aurelian status:

To qualify for Aurelian status again next year, your room rate spend must be within the top 1% of the entire Leaders Club membership base during this calendar year and you must be invited to Aurelian status.‘
I do know that around 10k is not enough.
