If you prefer to pay more miles and less cash, put the multi-city award on a free hold, and then call AA to book it. When you call, ask if AA can price it as a single award for 57.5K miles and a low cash component. Because of "married-segment" issues, the answer will probably be, "No," but there's no harm in asking.
