My girlfriend, who is an authorized CSR user, just tested positive for influenza. We were supposed to fly to Vegas tomorrow.
She is booked with me on a cheap Frontier ticket. The change/cancel fee is more than the ticket. It seems like the terms state that she has to cancel with the airline and the insurance will cover the $79 fee, rather than just forfeiting the ticket?
Next, the trip interruption seems worded for trips that already started. I'm gonna be on this trip till Tues. If she is recovered by Sat, could she book a ticket then and still come on the trip or does she have to just miss the entire trip to engage the benefit?
We have this trip booked as two one way tickets so she can cancel her departure flight and not have to also cancel the return flight. She obviously won't know till Sat if she is recovered. She could just cancel both legs now.
Any suggestions on what people here would do in this situation? I know I could cancel also according to these terms since my "Travelling Companion" is I'll but I might as well go since I have a comp room and won't get this comp room in the future. Plus I'm not sick.
