Everyone agrees that those two acts are offensive. Not everyone agrees that saving a seat, within reason, is offensive.
If you want to practice enforcement, you can elbow the guy out of the supermarket line or you can arrange a fender bender with the guy trying to cut in front of you at the exit.
Your other option is to recite the Serenity Prayer and just forget about the offense.
