Actually, I don't think UA PL's general buffet offerings exceed that of the *A lounge buffet by much either, if at all. PL does have the sit-down restaurant, though.
I agree with all of this. The LAX *A buffet (including noodle bar) is better than anything I've had at the EWR PL (buffet), and self-service drinks are a plus when PL bartenders are feeling lazy, rude, and in need of tips.
