Since you asked. For me at least.
1 - No change fees and when booking with points its real easy as you work off one points pool vs. dealing with multiple travel credits
2 - Can refare when prices drop and point credits go back to my pool (saves me a TON of money in the long run), so I don't have to play the "is now the best time to book or should I wait to see if the price drops" game. That would give ME anxiety.
3 - Can book multiple flights on multiple days when IRROPS is a possibility to avoid getting stuck at either airport risk having flights sold out. And with this I can still get my points refunded when I cancel any unneeded flights (came in real handy right after New Years this year with all the COVID shutdowns)
4 - I never have to pay extra for a "preferred seat" because I always get my preferred seat (captain's side aisle near the wings). The price of the fare is what I pay.
5 - My primary (and really only route I care about) is NY to PBI/FLL which leads to #6
6 - My preferred and closest airport is ISP as I live close to it. Lines for TSA security at this airport are next to nonexistent and even if there is a line I jump to the front with Fly By Priority A-List. The only real options at ISP are WN and F9, and the choice is easy there.
7 - No need for a fancy lounge when I can literally show up at ISP less than an hour before my flight and have no issue getting on the plane. Once I enter the airport i can be on the plane in about 10-15 minutes if I time it right.
8 - Southwest has the best online customer service. I haven't called them in years and I have A-List phone priority. I simply tweet my requests and they get handled within the hour.
9 - Companion Fare perks. Myself and my wife both have a companion, so we have flown as a family of four many times and only paid for two.
I could go on.

So you basically went on this rant and you are now comparing WN to first class service on another airline? I fly first class when I fly for my job so I have been there too. All destinations being equal, I would trade flying first class on AA out of JFK, and instead fly on WN when I know I can breeze through ISP security, be on the plane in no time after setting foot in the airport and get a guaranteed aisle seat with no worry of overhead bin space. Imagine that!
