As explained to me, flight booked with TravelBank credits expiring June 1st dropped $30. Changed to a different flight and got a $30 FFC good till 12/31/22. Then changed back to the original flight and kept the FFC. It's too bad United plays these games (with Southwest and no change fees you can directly re-price a flight to a lower fare and just get the credit) but it wasn't too bad.
