ANA and JAL to cancel some U.S. flights

Over at the U.S. airlines are urging to stop the start of nationwide 5G cell phone service because the 5G service can interfere with the equipment on aircraft. Specifically certain radio altimeters used on aircraft use a frequency very close to the frequency used by the 5G service.

CNN article about 5G service and aircraft

Over here at Japan, both ANA and JAL announced that they will temporarily suspend 777 services to the U.S. because of this. It is a radio altimeter used on 777 which uses the frequency very close to the frequency used by the 5G service. ANA and JAL will try to operate the U.S. service using 787 but some flights to the U.S. will be canceled.
