Keep in mind, target income for cards like Amex Gold and Amex Platinum are well into six figures; maybe not "rich" but those that can spend hundreds or even thousands on Uber a month and still invest, save, etc. Amex has good insight on its target customers, it must know many of its customers organically spent a lot per month regularly on Grubhub, Uber, Peacock, whatever other monthly credits they introduced the past few years
