For the low number part of the "A" line don't expect a clear answer. The last time I tried it the answer was to question my number first and then tell me I was behind them without bothering to show me their boarding pass.
I'm willing to take the other customer's word for it if they tell me a number. Or even if they don't. I guess it depends how trusting you are and how much importance you attribute to precise boarding order.
FWIW if someone asks I will tell my number but I might not bother to show it. They can and should take my word for it.
