I'm not sure why one wouldn't bring their passport.

Granting "daughter" could be any age, and might never go buy booze, I just yesterday noted a sing at the LC that the only form of valid ID they took was Canadian IDs, or passports. And there have been more than 0 cases of (well, mostly redneck cops in the US) of people in far more critical positions of authority than a liquor store clerk rejecting NEXUS cards. I don't know if a random McD's clerk would take a NEXUS card cross checking a vax record against ID as a more current example.

So yeah. AC was wrong. But on this point, I'm not sure why you wouldn't have done the better, and trivially easy, thing up front.
