Agree it is always best to travel with your passport when you can, but I do resist when I am challenged to provide more than my nexus card as it is acceptable and easier to reference.

My husband is dual citizen and has been challenged, so this could also be factor for some:

Canadians holding dual citizenship must travel to Canada with a valid Canadian passport.”
