The whole thing is silly... but since we are laughing, here is what happened recently.
WHAT WOULD YOU DO?
We were in line for a flight one day. I had a-27. Guy standing ahead of me had A26. I noticed it was not for this flight. This was one of those rare days I opted to take the advice of my wife and STFU. Of course, when he finally got up there, his pass would not scan. They sent him to the counter to figure it out. No idea what happened to him.
Normally I would try to help, but sometimes you just have to decide it is none of your business.
