HA will charge for bags at LIH check in and does not recognize UA status. They will not check through to mainland.

At certain times of day, HA bag check and new TSA set up can be horrendous. If UA doesn’t check through, 90 minutes could end up being close. UA’s bag return is slow in HNL and Hawaiian is at other end of terminal complex.
Thanks. If I book the HA ticket through UA (using UA miles), would it be less dependent on the agent?
