The Volvo dealership near me actually has this. There are two stalls, one on each side and as you drive into the service bay LEDs from the stalls lights up and there's prob at least 4 cameras on each stall that scans the car. In this case the dealership would be on hook for any unnoted damage so they have every incentive to do it unlike rental companies.
