Neither do I, nor do I have any criticism how any other sovereign country handles its own business. It's impossible to know beforehand what the ideal solution is for something as uncontrollable as a contagious pathogen, and the zero covid strategy may be the right course for some, just not for my country. I've never been a fan of the one-size fits all approach and find it helpful when you have several control groups, for a lack of a better word, trying different solutions. It's very important especially for posterity's sake to tabulate an accounting of those who have been wrong; I don't care about their intentions, it's only important to be right.

Maybe Singapore's strategy will be proven the most effective; or, Australia's. We shall see.

While I appreciate my view on this is unpopular, I've been pretty satisfied how we've handled it in the United States. For me, it's great that we have 50 little countries in the union free to make many of these choices, and there's always somewhere to go. I'd probably have gone crazy if I weren't able to escape the Bay Area whenever they start going berzerk with that covid stuff.
