I think it's more than just the tangible, financial condition that's at risk. I have a friend in Singapore whose outlook on life has gone from being alive with the possibilities afforded by living in a cosmopolitan, plugged-in city-state, to one of sad resignation at the stagnation of being trapped in an isolated city in a geographically distant part of the world.
I don't begrudge Singapore control over their own destiny; not at all. But there will be consequences to this covid mania -- and not just intended, tangible ones.
