Domestic carriers in India frequently have this as a condition for boarding, but in practice I have never been denied boarding for not having the credit card at boarding time - in fact most of the time nobody even asked for the card when checking in. This is a small sample of "Asian carriers" but perhaps helpful to you. The condition is stress-inducing, though, as I usually book flights much in advance, and so worry about remembering to take the right credit card with me when I travel, and secondly, hoping that I don't lose it or have it be stolen, etc., en route.
