I'm just pointing out that the messaging is mixed.
I assume this is the usual nonsense from AA. Inconsistencies onboard, on their website, with agents ... that's the norm with AA. Guessing that whoever is in charge of the verbiage in these emails has zero clue about the new LP system, hence the mixed messaging.
