Probably just some kind of a temporary glitch, this kind of thing can happen from time to time especially when AA is updating schedules and fares.

The phone agents will have no idea other than "their computer doesn't show any seats for sale" so they're just making up things when asked.

Just keep an eye on it over the coming days, PE space will come back.
