Living in UK makes little sense to belong to QF ffp. But if your flying is only the kangaroo route and nil credit card points a small reason for QF ffp.
Generally better to be a member off the airline you fly most (distance and/or flights and/or spend)
From status I want lounge access for long haul flights, priority for points upgrades and higher earn rate to use on said upgrades.

The airline I fly on most is QF, kangaroo route three times a year (normally) and some domestic flights in au when I'm there. To be honest, most years I only fly QF, occasionally BA/AA to the USA, but rare enough not to matter. I never fly domestically in the UK or to Europe.
