My wife and I stayed a few years ago. When you arrive, the staff all stand in the front of the house to greet you, just like in Downton Abbey.

Food and service were excellent. We stayed on the property the whole time (4 days). Had a lovely picnic, went biking, horse riding, archery (the man who coached us was on the Olympic team), skeet shooting, and a few other activities.

They also had a whole wardrobe of outfits from a few hundred years ago, so we dressed up as a lord and lady from the 1800’s and had dinner and drinks, it was fun.

It’s very quiet at night, but we got peckish at 1 AM and called the front desk one night and the lovely gentleman went to the kitchen himself to make us some sandwiches from whatever was in the fridge.

To me, the whole experience was like staying at a wealthy friends home, and I mean that in the best possible way.
