Their ‘Where we fly’ part of the website has obviously not been updated for COVID at all… which I find ridiculous as we’re now nearly TWO YEARS into this mess. The least they can do is have some sort of page with a simple list of operational routes and a timetable.

I’m getting tired having to select dates, etc. and being told there are no flights that day, etc.
What information are you actually looking for? You're describing two different things:
  1. What are all the places that BA is currently flying to?
  2. Is BA flying to the place that I need to travel to/from, and if so, when and how often?
If your main concern is whether you can get your mum to you, then it's the second of those things.

The BA website has a timetable: https://www.britishairways.com/trave...s/public/en_gb. However, a timetable is never going to tell you whether the route will be cancelled, or thinned out, after you book, nor will it tell you conclusively whether BA is taking bookings on a particular day.

The problem with a list of operational routes is that it changes all the time, often with little notice. And a list doesn't tell you about when a route is operational. For example, is HKG operational? There are no flights this month or next, but BA is taking bookings for March onwards. Would you want it to appear in this list, or not?

If you want to see if a particular route is open for booking at present, then one quick alternative is to use ITA:
  • Click on the "One-way" tab.
  • Put in the route you want.
  • Click "Advanced controls", and in the Routing Codes box, put "BA".
  • Click "See calendar of lowest fares".
  • Put in today's or tomorrow's date.
  • Then click "Search".
The calendar will give you a pretty good indication of the dates for which BA is taking bookings on that route. On the calendar page, you can quickly insert another date at the top, and click "Update" to get a new calendar covering a different period.
