After this year, I'm going full NY mode on all Hyatts Stateside. No need to be polite and gracious.
Why not just say at check in that you need 4pm checkout regardless of whether they proactively ask? Then you avoid the hassle of needing to get keys recoded, losing access to your room, having unnecessary interactions/drama on checkout date, etc.
I’m not sure what “full NY mode” means but being polite and gracious doesn’t cost you anything. Being impolite is not going to ingratiate yourself with any hotel staff (Hyatt or otherwise) and there’s no real upside to it.
