First, can you show how AA defined 'first responder'?
Secondly, you are saying OP should tell AA that the ticket should not have been sold under those circumstances, thus it is invalid, and the transaction should be reversed?

I sense some bitterness. Though I would presume you are in no way, shape, or form a first responder and are only riding the coattails of your wife.
