But if covid remains a concern, I could see an mostly-outdoor trip being preferable. We did a lot of hiking in the pre-vax portion of the pandemic...it was (and still is) one of our favorite activities. I might have opted to camp or stay in a private cabin pre-vax....now I'd be okay with a B&B. Would definitely use a service that sends gear ahead, if that's an option. I've hiked some with a large pack, but it's certainly nicer to not have to if that's an option.
The time on trail would be relately risk-free, but perhaps the majority of people on the Camino stay in pilgrim hostels, many of which are basically large bunk rooms. There's also questions being asked now on some of the Camino boards about what level of support services there will be for hikers due to there not being the usual number of volunteers at the hostels.
