I know this is a broad question, but does anyone have any recommendations as to where to transfer my points before I cancel that would give me the most flexibility for using those points in the future? Wondering if there is a "go-to" point currency that generally gives the most flexibility for use?
Thanks
Depends on your reason for cancellation.
If yearly fee is concern, then how about downgrading it to Chase Sapphire preferred? $99/yr and you can still transfer to partners.
If you insist on taking the points out of chase system, then I guess it really depends on HOW you want to use them. If GENERAL, then Aeroplan isn't too bad since it is in Star Alliance. If you have travel in Singapore airline coming up in your future, then you can move it there.
You COULD downgrade it to fee free card (Freedom/Freedom unlimited) and keep the points and later perhaps get CSP or CSR card again and transfer points into them to use?
