You have basically charge Blanche for Ua metal, who should be able to open up space on any of their flights. Or they would switch you, without needing extra miles, to a partner flight that has award availability already - UA can only force space open on its own flights.
didn’t you already say an itinerary via IAD on all-UA was available? If that’s the case, and it’s the same price, there’s no reason you can’t do that yourself.
