For people who constantly get new cards it certainly isn’t a good use of $3K spend. But for those of us who don’t/can’t do that 4+X miles per dollar isn’t a bad offer.
Quest requires $5k spend for 80k, and this is just $1k more for 70k, not much difference here, that's why I applied for Explorer and not Quest.
