According to my recent conversation w/ an EXP Desk rep, if AA-metal flights have BA flight numbers, they will be treated as BA flights. If they are ticketed w/ AA flight numbers, however, regardless of where you made the purchase, you will be eligible for elite-status multiplier, etc.
