I had a mildly amusing version of this where my wife and I were in 2D and 2G on a UA 77G (2-4-2 IPTE, center-block aisles). Someone in the middle noticed we boarded together and "helpfully" offered to switch us together. No thanks, specifically chose to avoid the free spoon-with-a-stranger feature of the E/F pair
