If you wanted to get to EXP via spend then BookAAhotels.com or Rocketmiles is a much more enjoyable option.
Motley Fool is back up to 7,400 miles for a $79/year subscription. However, it does show that the normal accrual is 3,700 miles and there are "extra miles" available. So, perhaps only 3,700 will translate into LPs. That said, for RDMs, it still comes out to about $.01 per mile
