In my case, I had not stayed in any Hilton for a couple of months, however back in August, I stayed in a few Hilton's overnight and expected to earn 500 miles per stay, giving me 2000 miles. However, it was not until I checked my EC statement did I realise I had been given point per $ spent which seemed to amass to a rather disappointing 423 miles!
When I rang HHonours, they were very apologetic however couldn't give me any more miles in terms of what I thought I was earning. However I did manage to negotiate and extra 6 months Gold membership as it was due to expire in December.
